 Birmingham St. George's Day Association

                                                      CONCERT 2006                              

Plus Outdoor Events!!

                                            We present another concert in aid of charity

                                    which this year which is; St. Mary's Hospice Selly Oak.    

at Symphony Hall on Sunday 23rd April at 5pm  until 7:30pm with an interval

The tickets are £6.50 (includes Free Programme) and available from Symphony Hall on March 7th

 at the box office on 0121 780 3333. 

The Concert will be recorded by BBC WM and broadcast on Friday 28th April

Details will be given by Carl Chinn  on BBC WM.

The concert will be  hosted by Carl Chinn, and feature                 

Sovereign Brass Band

Massed Male Voice Choirs

We wish to express our thanks for the help and support of the Express & Star  Newspaper

The free Programmes are produced and printed by the Staff  in particular one member who not withstanding having a sudden family bereavement  worked overtime to produce them.

 

                                                        Outdoor Activities

    As part of the expansion of the Association we are planning other activities around the city on the day:

There is dancing in Chamberlain Square featuring;
The children of Peterbrook School Birmingham with country dancing at approx 11am, followed throughout the day,  (order to be finalised);
The Wayfarers folk dancers, (
Wayfarers Folk Dance Club (Birmingham) 0121 459 1575),Claro Sword Dancers from Harrogate, Jockeymen Morris Dancers, Donna Maria Maypole Dancers from London.

In Victoria Square we will have Ceilidhography a young English Ceilidh band from Telford.
Isambarde a Folk group from
Coventry, Rack and Ruin a Folk/Rock style a local group.

Walsall Leather Museum with demonstrations and also British Woodcarvers Association and the,

Birmingham Pen Museum  plus;

The Birmingham Musuem & Art Gallery  have arranged the following;

Medieval puppet shows of St George & the Dragon by Perrotts Puppets
Medieval costumed characters from from "Paladins of Chivalry" re-enactors
Medieval coin stamping demonstrations from Grunal the Moneyer
Drop-in family art & craft workshops
A selection of quizzes & trails around the museum
 

and The Birmingham Central Library are hosting a Tolkien Day.

If all the above makes you hungry and thirsty there will be refreshments on the day.

Make it a Family Day out and support your St. George's Day.
