 Birmingham St. George's Day Association

                                                      CONCERT 2009                              

 Plus Outdoor Events!!  Saturday                      

                     We present another concert in aid of charity which this year which is;  Cure Leukaemia in Birmingham,  and a Bursary to Birmingham Schools to promote England & Englishness in an all embracing way.

at Symphony Hall on Saturday 25th April at 6pm  until 9pm with an interval

The tickets are £6 (Grand Tier) and £8 other areas (includes Free Programme) from  March 4th and available from Symphony Hall  and the Birmingham Town Hall box office on Ticket Hotline 0121 780 3333 or online on http://www.thsh.co.uk/

From April 1st  A £2 transaction fee will be charged on all bookings, except purchases
made in person at the box office,
This charge will replace the previous box office arrangement whereby a £2
charge was applied to telephone bookings & a £1 charge for online bookings,
when patrons required tickets to be returned by post

Details will be given by Carl Chinn  on BBC Radio WM. on his show on February 15th, and March 22nd.

The concert will be  hosted by Carl Chinn, and feature     

Birmingham Schools Showcase. Schools appearing are

                                     Twickenham Primary School Kingstanding & The Oratory School Ladywood.

Sovereign Brass Band              

Highbury Little Theatre players

Andy Casserley Musician (member of Captain Swing Band)

Bernard Hackett, Black Country Monologist

Sharron Burns, Soprano of the Cannock & Gentleshaw Musical Society

Massed Male Voice Choirs some are also members of the National Association of Choirs, and the English Association of Male Voice Choirs.

 City of Birmingham Brass Band.


 Deluka: Birmingham band who appear on the sound track to computer game "Grand theft auto 4"


 Central England ensemble. An orchestra playing popular English classics.


 The Fab Beatles. A welcome return to one of the best Beatles tribute bands.


 Kerfuffle. Young English folk band, finalist in the BBC 2 Young folk band awards.
 
  A smoke breathing dragon slide and other children's entertainment.

Newcastle Kingsmen. Sword dancers from the North East.


Earlsdon Morris. Clog dancers from Coventry.


Jockey Morrismen. from Birmingham.


Fiddlesticks. Women's Garland and Clog dancers from Norwich.


Glorishears of Brummagem. Women Morris dancers.
 
We are hoping to have a Birmingham schools act appear on the Victoria square stage.
 
and there will be hot and cold refreshments available on the day.
also possibly a market selling English food and drink with some craft stalls.
